The extraction of the hCG hormone from urine takes place at the Aspen factory in Boxtel. This factory was built in 1975. Due to the high demand for high-quality, natural hCG, the factory was expanded and modernized in 2020. Every day, a team of thirteen people is busy processing the collected urine and purifying the hCG. Additionally, all the crates are thoroughly cleaned in Boxtel.
All the urine collected by Moeders voor Moeders is brought to the factory in Boxtel. Around 800 crates of urine arrive daily and begin the purification process within the same week. Besides the hCG hormone, urine contains many other substances excreted by the body. In the factory, we ensure that the hCG is separated from all these other substances through various purification steps. Finally, the purified hCG is subjected to several tests to ensure it meets all the standards required for use as a raw material for medications. The entire process takes six to nine months.
After extracting the hCG hormone from the urine, a large amount of residual urine remains. This is what we call leftover urine. While individuals can simply flush their urine down the toilet, this is not permitted at the factory due to the large volumes involved! Therefore, we send the residual urine to a water treatment facility. Here, the leftover urine is first biologically purified before it can be released into the sewage system.
At the end of the process, which takes six to nine months, we are left with pure hCG, which looks like a white powder. We then supply the hCG to several pharmaceutical companies that use it to make their own fertility medications, which are available worldwide.
